The March HDXCC meeting was held at the Yorkshire Rose Pub, Carmel. Members arrived for dinner at 6:30 PM and after the usual socializing the meeting was called to order by President WN9O at 8:15. The minutes of the 7 February meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer report indicated $509.74 is in the club account at Metrobank.

OLD BUSINESS:

1. N9NS reported there have been changes in the Field Day rules, members should check them out at the ARRL web site for comment at the next meeting. He also mentioned he did not hear much activity in the Great Lakes QSO Party, one we helped promote.

2. N9LF read a letter he had received from ARRL stating that the application for SCM sent by WA9PIE arrived a day too late, thus was rejected.

3. W9ZRX discussed briefly the cost of a new computer for the KJ9D node, roughly $1000 using all new parts. The cost of AR-Cluster software would be $300.

4. INQP business. KJ9C discussed his attempts to advertise the event. Only 17 clubs have responded so far. He will operate mobile and N9LF will be mobile coordinator as several stations will be operating mobile and we don’t want them overlapping their routes. W9TN reports Writelog now has a module for INQP. TR now has a module also. He has gotten no response from the NA author.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. N9KT is working on re-building our web site. He will post the site for members only to critique. WA9PIE has moved but is still willing to help keep up the site. Our site is located at QSL.NET who is reportedly having trouble so we may want to consider moving. N9KT and W9TN will research other sites.

2. N9NS reported the submission dates for the ARRL DX contests. March 19th for CW and April 2nd for SSB.

3. W9ZRX brought to the club’s attention the trouble Jim/W9JWR has been having with cancer. He is presently undergoing rather painful chemo-therapy. Dave brought a get-well card which all present signed.

DX AWARD: W9TN for working 90 countries in February.

CONTEST AWARD: KJ9C for 300 QSO’s in the Sprint, 1800 in the ARRL DX-CW.

A date for the next meeting was not set. (later, officers determined it will be 18 April)

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:55 Pm.

There followed a very interesting presentation on propagation by K9LA.
